Understanding Commitment to Therapy
Patients need to understand that Visudyne is a multicourse therapy, with several treatments given over a period of time. Following the TAP Investigation protocol, therapy is typically administered once every 3 months as long as leakage appears on fluorescein angiography. In the 2-year TAP Investigation, Visudyne patients received an average of 3.4 treatments in the first year and 2.3 treatments the second year.1 For each patient, follow-up evaluations with the treating physician are recommended at 3-month intervals to determine whether additional treatment is required.2
Appearing below are a number of official materials designed to help you prepare your patients for therapy with Visudyne.
