Physicians can also use these sites to purchase the materials needed to administer Visudyne, which can be ordered separately or as a kit. The infusion kit includes sterile Water for Injection to reconstitute the Visudyne cake, 5% Dextrose for Injection (D5W) to dilute the drug to the final 30 mL infusion volume together with the tubing, filters, needles, and catheter required for the infusion itself. The kit also contains all the necessary syringes and alcohol wipes, and the sunglasses and wristband that should be given to the patient after treatment.
